It is a most interesting thing; how a person can see thing differently than another person. We give meaning to the objects in our lives.
Take for example a motorcycle. To me I see a means to unwind, to get some place more economical than in my 4 wheeled vehicle. Others see a means to a quick and violent death.
It is amusing to see how one's past influences ones future by simple association. Like refusing to marry again because of a prior experience. Yet what is more interesting is the why.
Why does some one consider marriage a bad deal? Are there really no decent people in the world? The amount of charity that goes on in a daily basis begs to differ. The amount of people moved by pictures of horrifying things begs to differ. So what is it that actually holds a person back from making the same decision?
Lets go back to the less emotional Motorcycle example. If it was merely a risk assessment question it would not explain why those same people would engage in other risky behavior.
So what other than each person choosing to give everything around them its meaning could explain these things?
